Focusing on two critical resource areas.
Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS. Private foundations, individuals, and government agencies are not eligible to receive grants from the Foundation. Applications are accepted by invitation only.
We help raise awareness around the importance of supporting children and families who have experienced the death of a close loved one and invest in resources to assist them in their time of need.
We help build academic foundations for middle schoolers during the critical out-of-school hours in order to prepare them for their transition to high school.
Providing the support needed for a resilient future.
Through our Grief Reach program, in collaboration with the National Alliance for Grieving Children, we aim to help grief providers expand and grow their capacity to provide assistance to diverse and disadvantaged youth with limited access to bereavement services throughout the country.
Aim High, in consultation with the Afterschool Alliance, is part of the New York Life Foundation’s ongoing investment to help underserved 8th-graders reach the 9th grade on time and prepared for high school level work. To that end, we support high quality out-of-school time (OST) programs as a way to give students access to crucial academic and social-emotional resources.
As an extension of our grantmaking, New York Life is highly dedicated to promoting local engagement in the communities where our employees and agents work and live. We seek to integrate our financial investments with sustained, company-wide philanthropic activity through volunteer programs, fundraising campaigns, team grant opportunities, and more.
Agents and employees can access our five different grant opportunities below:
